Mosquito extermination campaign has started in 54 wards under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
On Thursday (September 19) morning, the organization started the public awareness program by conducting a mosquito-fighting campaign and rally in front of BRAC University in Merul Badda.
Dhaka North City Corporation informed that a week-long special mosquito eradication program will be conducted from September 19 to September 25 in each region of DNCC.
At that time, DNCC Chief Executive Officer Mir Khairul Alam said, this program has started in 54 wards of Dhaka North City Corporation from today. Besides, we will work to create awareness of dengue control among the common people. For this reason, the message of dengue awareness will be conveyed to the people from religious places of worship including the imam of the mosque.
He also said, besides creating awareness, we will conduct our other activities. We have already formed a monitoring team to check whether the mosquito repellants are being applied properly or not, how the overall operation is going. That team is monitoring the whole thing.
