Pitru Paksha has started from 17th September but the first Shradh was on 18th September. Pitru Paksha is considered very important for remembering our ancestors and performing Tarpan for them. This time there was a lunar eclipse on the first Shraddha and a solar eclipse on the last Shraddha. During this time, a pregnant woman should apply ochre on her stomach and should not come out of her room. It is considered good to take the name of your Isht Dev or meditate at this time.
Don’t do these things during Pitru Paksha
Pregnant women should not observe any fast during Pitru Paksha. Apart from this, they should also avoid attending anyone’s last rites. One should not go to any isolated or empty place during this time. Pregnant women should avoid eating non-vegetarian food during Pitru Paksha.

The house and surrounding area should be kept clean during the days of Shraadh. It is very important to take care of hygiene during pregnancy and special care should be taken of purity in religious activities. Many religious rituals are performed during the days of Shraadh which require a lot of hard work. Pregnant women should avoid doing tiring work. This can put a strain on their body. Pregnant women should also not wear heavy tight clothes during Shraadh. You should wear comfortable and loose clothes only.
don’t stand for long
Avoid standing for long periods during Shraadh. If any religious ritual is being performed, then after completing it, sit for a while but do not stand continuously. Rest as much as possible and try to complete the ritual while sitting. Certain types of food are prohibited during Shraadh, such as tamasic food (non-vegetarian food, onion, garlic etc.). Pregnant women should avoid tamasic food during this period and consume satvik food.
