Mayor runs 2024 meters in Pomorie

The sixth edition of “Pomorie Run” was held on September 21, 2024 along the unique route of the hair between Lake Pomorie and the Black Sea.

The classic distance, which is 10.25 km, includes 600 meters of asphalt, 4.8 km running on sand and 4.8 km running on a dirt road, was covered fastest by Tsvetan Bakhchevanov (“Athlete 2004” – Malko Tarnovo) in 43 ,32 min. His runner-up was former Bulgarian marathon champion Iliya Kutsarov with 44.25 min, and third is the national competitor in long-distance running from the recent past, Yordan Petrov (“Tangra” – Varna) – 45.57 min.

In the women’s category, a convincing victory was won by the girl from “Black Sea – Athletic” – Varna – Maya Ruseva, who outran most of the men and finished more than eight minutes ahead of the second woman with 48.19 minutes. Zhanina Karaivanova (“Tangra” – Varna) is second with 56.43 min, and the third place on the ladder went to Petya Kovacheva (“Tangra” – Varna) – 57.16 min. This was Maya Ruseva’s second “sea” victory in “Run Bulgaria” after her first place in “Sozopol” run” on April 20.

In the short distance of 2024 m, children, parents, amateurs and beginner runners participated, as well as the mayor of the municipality of Pomorie, Ivan Alexiev, who started the long distance.

The first six men and women received cash prizes, and the top three received vouchers from SPORT DEPOT and T-shirts from NIKE.

The event was made possible thanks to the municipality of Pomorie, the Bulgarian Athletics Federation, the “Run Bulgaria” movement, SPORT DEPOT, NIKE, Sting, Biofar and was dedicated to “100 years of Bulgarian athletics”.
