As a prelude to the OIF summit to be held next October in France, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Morissanda Kouyaté was present at the permanent council of the Francophonie, in front of his African and European counterparts and the Secretary General, he took the opportunity to unveil the CNRD roadmap concerning a possible return to constitutional order in Guinea.
In a report broadcast on the 8:30 p.m. news this Thursday on national television (RTG), Minister Dr. Morissanda Kouyaté reassured Guinea’s partners about the organization of elections in Guinea.
“Ladies and gentlemen, dear representatives. The calendar as it stands today should lead us to hold general elections. All elections will be held in Guinea in 2025. And, the first consultation will be before the end of this year, the adoption of the constitution that I have just spoken to you about. And since it is at the level of the supreme judiciary that the populations and the international community better perceive democratic progress, we could even start with the presidential election as a pledge of commitment,” says Dr. Morissanda Kouyaté, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In the same report, the head of Guinean diplomacy said that the new constitution will never be a machine for exclusion.
“The new constitution will not be and will never be a machine for exclusion. It cannot begin in its preamble with the equality of all Guineans in rights and duties, and end with the exclusion of a few according to the moods and political calculations of such and such actors.” he suggested.
