The Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda has created an Anti-Fraud Committee with the aim of controlling the use of funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and ensuring that the use of those European funds complies with the applicable law of the European Union, as well as national legislation.

This is stated in a ministerial order published this Saturday in the BOE, which defines the functions and composition of this new body. Its creation corresponds to a requirement of the EU regulation establishing the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, which obliges Member States, in their capacity as beneficiaries or borrowers of community funds, to take all appropriate measures to protect those interests related to prevention , ie detecting and correcting fraud, corruption and conflicts of interest. To that end, it provides that Member States establish an effective and efficient system of internal control, and that they recover amounts wrongly paid or wrongly used.

The Ministry of Housing, the order says, participates in a very significant way and through numerous reforms and investments in the execution of the Spanish Government’s Recovery, Change and Resilience Planto have the status of both a decision-making entity and an executive entity.

His functions will be to ensure that the anti-fraud policy and the Anti-Fraud Action Plan of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Work Program are properly implemented; supervise and approve the risk assessment for the financial interests of the European Union, and supervise the Control Plan prepared by the Coordinator of the Recovery, Change and Resilience Plan, in accordance with the guidelines of the Anti-Fraud Measures Plan of the Ministry of Housing.
