jpnn.comACEH – The 21st Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) 2024 officially ended on Friday night, (20/9), which was closed at the North Sumatra Main Stadium, Deli Serdang.
The event marked the end of Indonesia’s biggest sporting event, which this time was successfully held in two provinces, Aceh and North Sumatra.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, who officially closed the PON, expressed his appreciation.
However, Muhadjir emphasized the importance of a comprehensive evaluation to ensure that the implementation of PON in the future will be better.
“PON XXI is a great achievement for all of us. But of course, there are still some things that need to be improved. We will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to ensure that the implementation of PON in the future runs more smoothly and better,” said the Coordinating Minister for PMK.
A similar thing was conveyed by the General Chair of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Center, Marciano Norman.
Despite several obstacles, he said, the 21st Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) 2024 had reached its peak with brilliant records in various sectors, from the organization, achievements, to the economic impact for the two hosts.
PON XXI succeeded in meeting all the success targets that had been set.
PON XXI also recorded extraordinary records in various sports, proving how the potential of Indonesian athletes continues to develop.
