Meritorious Artist Chi Trung is upset about being a constant victim of fake news and dirty media. The male artist used the words “hate” and “extremely hate” when referring to this problem.
“I am a victim of dirty media. Many tabloids reported untrue news about my family and my life, but many people still read it. They used sensational headlines to attract views, affecting my personality and thoughts. From there, many people misunderstood my circumstances, work, personality, everything about me,” Meritorious Artist Chi Trung shared.

According to Chi Trung, after he retired, some information spread that he had hundreds of billions of dong, and was rich so he refused to perform.
In fact, the male artist revealed that he is not rich but has a peaceful life, enough to spend on his 10.2 million VND pension. Chi Trung said that he lives in the collective housing area of the artists of the Vietnam Drama Theater, No. 1 Trang Tien.
He doesn’t have many needs in life, just simply growing plants and taking care of a few pets like dogs, fish, birds…
“Compared to juniors, this amount of money is too little, but compared to seniors, I am too rich. Money is something external. I divide my pension of 10 million VND into parts. In the morning, I get up to exercise, eat instant noodles or cold rice. After that, my girlfriend and I go out for coffee, and for lunch and dinner, I eat at home. Occasionally, I meet friends and colleagues. I am an artist, and my singing voice is my greatest asset. Anyone who can retire like me, can be as peaceful as me,” he said.
In a behind-the-scenes video, Chi Trung shares his journey with the Youth Theater and the ups and downs in his career.
“In 1978, when I was 17 years old, the Youth Theater recruited people. I was one of 2,100 people who applied. I have been with the theater for 45 years, and retired for more than 2 years. There were times when I went to the market during the day to sell motorbikes, and at night I went to the theater to transform into famous people in the world. In 1998, I was one of the people who boldly adapted a long play into a short skit.
At that time, people in the profession, especially seniors, said that Chi Trung ruined the play. A long and passionate play like that, he broke it down and made it into short comedies. This was considered one of my courageous events as a troupe leader. I am proud of what I have done.
The theater is not only where I work but also where I am known to the audience, with many successes and glory, I have a happy marriage, throughout my youth, middle age and old age. I am grateful to the theater for giving Chi Trung the opportunity to be loved by the whole country”, Chi Trung confided.

Currently, artist Chi Trung is still active in the arts. He acts in television series and performs on stage at the Youth Theater. The male artist is attracting attention with his role as the boss Hung “khech” in the movie Doc Dao.
In his personal life, artist Chi Trung is happy with his girlfriend, Miss runner-up Y Lan, who is 18 years younger than him. He said he is lucky to have found a soulmate who understands him. The two often travel and are comfortable appearing in each other’s daily videos.
