A source revealed this to the British magazine Heat: the designer is very concerned about the different lifestyles
Victoria fears for her marriage to David Beckham. The designer is said to be very worried about their different lifestyles, hers and her husband’s. At 49, in fact, the former footballer spends most of his time in his Cotswolds estate, which they had initially imagined only as a holiday destination and not as a main residence. Two different visions of the future that are starting to clash, which, apparently, terrifies the former Spice Girls singer. “David has always felt at home when he was in the Cotswolds, which is where he is most comfortable and where he is happiest. Although Vic loves seeing him immerse himself in his ‘man of the house’ persona, she is worried that they have different visions of life and fears that, over time, this could lead to them living separate lives,” reveals a source close to the two to Heat magazine.
“David has made no secret of his desire to permanently move to the countryside for a calmer, more relaxed lifestyle now that his children are starting to be independent, and it’s something he and Vic have talked about a lot and considered seriously. Having grown up in east London, David is ready to leave city life behind and settle in the Cotswolds for good, while Vic grew up in Hertfordshire so still finds living in the heart of London exciting, even after all these years,” the source adds. The source also says Victoria Beckham isn’t ready to give up her big city lifestyle and doesn’t see herself doing so for much longer. But knowing how keen David is to move, she’s worried they’re on completely different paths. “Vic is very busy with her life in London, where both her HQ and flagship store are located. She loves her life there. She’s very active with her fashion and beauty brand and loves being able to stop by the office for meetings and oversee everything that goes on at HQ. She enjoys the excitement of being in the city: the events and great restaurants, not to mention all her trusted beauty salons and beauticians within walking distance. She worries about feeling lonely and bored spending all her time in the Cotswolds,” the source explains.
“When Vic raised her concerns with David, he insisted he didn’t expect her to give up her life in the city. She can make deals by working remotely and traveling to London maybe once or twice a week. He’d like them to be comfortable in both worlds. Her friends and family have urged her to be honest about her concerns and perhaps set a time frame for David to say when she’d be ready, so he knows it will happen at some point. So far, she’s told him she’s open to spending more time there, but a permanent move is still a long way off for her. Although she wants to move into this new phase of her life now that her children are older, Vic worries she’ll be unhappy and resentful towards David for forcing her to move, especially as she’d be giving up everything she loves in her life for him, which is essentially what she did for him when he was playing football. But at the end of the day, her marriage is her number one priority and she wants to make sure she and David stay on the same page, so she’s doing everything she can to demonstrate her commitment to that while still being true to their needs.”
