Yesterday, Thursday, the youth team conducted its second training session in the Qatari capital, Doha, which it arrived at the day before yesterday, Wednesday, as part of its preparation program in the training camp that is being held in preparation for the Asian Cup qualifiers that will be held in Chinese Taipei next month.
A brief statement by the Football Association received by the (INA) stated that “the training, which was attended by the member of the Executive Office of the Iraqi Football Association (Rahim Lafta), witnessed the implementation of the curriculum prepared by the training staff in order to reach full technical and physical readiness to participate in the upcoming qualifiers.”
The draw for the Asian Cup qualifiers placed the youth team in Group Five, which also includes Chinese Taipei, Palestine and Uzbekistan.
The Asian qualifiers consist of (10) groups. The champion of each group qualifies for the 2025 finals, in addition to the best five teams that obtain second place. If the host qualifies, the best 6 runners-up will become the best.
