UEFA said that 6,000 tickets would be made available to each club to sell to its supporters, specifying that the total number of spectators allowed at the Dragon stadium (50,000 seats) would be announced later.
“The fans have had to suffer for more than twelve months without the opportunity to see their teams in the stadium. Depriving them of the opportunity to experience the final in person was not an option, and I am pleased that a compromise has been reached,” said UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
The prestigious fixture was originally scheduled to be played at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, but travel restrictions between Turkey and the UK forced the organisers to revise their plans.
“I hope to be in Istanbul for a Champions League final and many other events in the near future,” said the Slovenian leader.
For the second consecutive year, Portugal has therefore won the C1 final, after the “Final 8” in Lisbon last August which saw Bayern Munich triumph.
In Portugal, the matches of the last day of the Football Championship, scheduled for May 19, will be able to accommodate a limited number of spectators in order to test the return of the public to the stadiums, the League announced on Wednesday.
