New York: India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan’s propaganda on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations. India’s representative Kshitij Tyagi lashed out at Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva. He criticized Pakistan for raising the Kashmir issue on the stage. Tyagi highlighted the rapid development of Kashmir and also showed it the mirror by comparing its budget with Pakistan’s IMF bailout request.

Jammu and Kashmir is an inalienable part

He said that ‘the fact is that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir was, is and will remain an integral and inseparable part of India.’ Referring to the 2024 general elections, the Indian representative said that ‘It is a fact that there has been enthusiastic and high voter turnout in the first phase of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir is developing at a fast pace and its budget is twice the bailout package that this country (Pakistan) has sought from the IMF. This is a fact.’

Kashmiri Muslim exposed Pakistan

In the same meeting, Indian Kashmiri Muslim Javed Beg exposed the atrocities being committed on the people in Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that people here are suffering from serious human rights violations, institutional oppression and severe repression. There are many reports which give information about people being disappeared, murdered and arbitrarily detained there.

Indian Kashmiri Muslim Tehmina Rizvi spoke on women, peace and security in Kashmir at the 57th session of the UNHRC. During this, she focused on the fact that as a diverse country, India also has social differences, but this does not stop India from moving towards development.
