The NGO “Education of women and children for their emancipation” (EDUFEEM) began from this Friday, September 20, 2024, a training on the socio-economic empowerment of women in the prefecture of Coyah, whose project is entitled “Guinè Khal Waly, Woman’s Work of the AEIF program.

For one month, these women will be trained in saponification (hard soap and liquid soap) and in agro-food processing (enriched flour and chili puree) and the preservation of agricultural products, including 100 in Guinea and the rest in Chad.

Mrs. Saran Diaby, president of the NGO EDUFEEM, in her message stressed: “The direct beneficiaries of the project are 20 women’s groups bringing together 200 women, or around ten women on average per group. This project should enable these 200 women across Chad and the Republic of Guinea to improve their economic level.”
She also added: “We gratefully thank our partner, in this case the American department and the Embassy of the United States of America in Guinea, who made this event possible. But also the prefectural authorities of Coyah through the prefect of Coyah, Colonel Yaya Kalissa for having authorized the implementation of this project in his locality.” Very satisfied with the mobilization, the representative of the Ambassador of the United States of America in Guinea, Ms. Sarah Kauffman, Deputy Advisor for Public Diplomacy, hammered home: “The promotion of women’s rights is a priority of the United States government, we believe that the participation of women at all levels of decision-making is special for sustainable development. We all know that there is still a lot of work to be done, so that women have equal opportunities compared to men in the education and administration sector here in Guinea and in the United States. However, thanks to projects like Guinè Kha Waly, Woman’s Work we are progressing little by little and I thank you for your commitment and am delighted with your work.”
The representative of the prefect for this activity, Lancinet Kaba, Secretary General in charge of administration, addressing the president of the NGO EDUFEEM specified: “The women of Coyah are delighted with your stay today, they will remain grateful for all the support you provide them with a view to fighting poverty and promoting their development and emancipation among so many women in Africa and in the world. In doing so, the implementation of this ambitious project effectively meets the needs and aspirations of women in view of the enormous difficulties related to the satisfaction of the household basket in the different families supported by these women who will accumulate experience in entrepreneurship. “

It should be recalled that for the specific case of Guinea, the beneficiaries of this project are divided between the urban communes of Coyah and Manéah and those of the rural communes of Wonkifong and Kouria. Each commune is represented by 25 women.
