For British pilot Norris, this is the third victory of the season and also of his career.
Norris started from “pole position” and kept Verstappen behind him, who started next to him. During the race, the champion of the last three seasons, Verstappen, did not threaten Norris’ leading position, but showed the maximum possible result with the current formula.
The winner’s teammate Oskars Piastri, who overtook the two Mercedes drivers in the second half of the race, finished third. George Russell (Mercedes) was fourth, while Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) finished fifth, followed by both teammates Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz Jr. respectively. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) finished eighth, Nico Hilkenberg (Haas) was ninth, and Sergio Perez (Red Bull) was the last point.
The fastest lap was shown by Daniel Ricciardo, the RB pilot of the team belonging to the “Red Bull” company, who thus took away an additional point from Norris, because at one time it belonged to the driver of “McLaren”.
Verstappen is the leader of the World Championship standings with 331 points, Norris is second with 279 points, Leclair is third with 245 points, and Piastri is fourth with 237 points. In the constructors’ cup, “McLaren” has 516 points, “Red Bull” – 475 points, and “Ferrari” – 441 points.
This season, 24 rounds will be held in the F-1 championship.
