  • Resolving challenges in the federal elections for deputies and senators
  • Determine and impose sanctions by the National Electoral Institute (INE) to political parties, groups and individuals and legal entities
  • Resolve challenges that arise regarding the election of the President of Mexico
  • Provide resolution of sanctioning procedures related to the violation of the rules that regulate the access to radio and television of parties and candidates, the propaganda of public entities, electoral propaganda and early campaign and pre-campaign events
  • Resolve challenges to acts or resolutions of the federal electoral authority, other than those indicated above, that violate constitutional or legal norms
  • Provide a solution to conflicts or labor differences between the Electoral Court and its officials; as well as between the INE and its public servants
  • Resolve definitive and firm acts or resolutions of local electoral institutes and courts that may be decisive for the development of the respective process or the final result of the elections
  • Challenges to acts and resolutions that violate the political-electoral rights of citizens to vote, be voted for and to affiliate

How is the TEPJF formed?

The Electoral Court of the Judicial Branch of the Federation is made up of a Upper Room (made up of seven judges), five Regional Halls and one Specialized Room (with three magistracies in each).
