They denounce the closure of doors in Cuauhtémoc offices; there was no transition table

Obdulio Avilacoordinator of the Mayor-elect’s Transition Team, Alessandra Rojo de la Vegadenounced that the session of the transition table in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office because the doors were closed to them.

Through a video shared on social media, Ávila Mayo stated that today, Friday, September 20, he went to comply with the instructions of the mayor-elect for the transition process.

Upon arriving at the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s offices, he revealed that they found the doors closed and explained that, on someone’s instructions, they were not allowed access.

“We have been in the Cuauhtémoc City Hall since 8 in the morning, because every Friday was marked as the beginning of the transition, those days, of the table. However, we are not being allowed access by the officers, by superior instructions, not even to the public service area,” he explained.

He said that since last Wednesday, the Regional Court issued a ruling and that in that ruling it orders that the election for the mayor’s office be declared valid.

“So far, the Electoral Institute, the Attorney General’s Office, the Electoral Court, all the authorities have been personally notified, but the mayor’s office says it cannot restart the work because it lacks notification.”

He reiterated that what happened is not about the transition commission, but about the people of Cuauhtémoc who “must be certain that the services, the procedures that are carried out in the mayor’s office, can be done properly from October 1. And here there is a hindrance to the activities of the public administration that is being carried out,” he added.
