The President of the Olympic Committee honors the Kyokushinkai team, which won 27 Asian medals

The head of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftan, honored the Iraqi Kyokushin team, which won 27 colored medals in the Asian Championship competitions, at the Olympic Committee headquarters.

The Olympic Committee media stated in a statement received by the (INA), that “the head of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftan, honored the Iraqi Kyokushin team, which won 27 colored medals in the Asian Championship competitions that were recently held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the participation of (13) continental teams, at the Olympic Committee headquarters.”
According to the statement, Muftan welcomed the team, the president and members of the federation, saying, “Honoring athletes is a responsibility and a duty that we offer to those with high achievements. We are pleased with these honoring meetings because they are evidence of the superiority of our athletes and confirm the recent Olympic renaissance.”
For his part, the head of the Iraqi and Asian federations for the game, Ammar Adnan Wahib, appreciated the position of the head of the Olympic Committee and his direct meeting with his sons, the players, stressing that “Iraq obtained the runner-up position in the continental championship, after its participating teams in the advanced, youth, junior and women’s categories won (27) colored medals, with eleven gold, nine silver and seven bronze, to occupy second place in the teams behind the Kazakhstan team, the leader, leaving third place to the Iranian team.”
Wahib added, “Honoring Muftan is not at all strange, as he is the true supporter of all national federations that have achieved accomplishments at all levels, in addition to his great sponsorship of all athletes who achieve colored medals and first places in foreign forums and championships. We must not forget the continuous follow-up by the members of the Executive Office of the Olympic Committee, and the Secretaries-General and Finance, of all sports delegations participating in foreign championships.”
The head of the Iraqi and Asian federations for the game continued, “The continental championship witnessed a remarkable presence through the presence of the President of the International Federation, Antonio Pinheiro, and a large number of officials and heads of the national federations participating in the Asian Championship.”
