(ANSA) – JESI (ANCONA), 23 SEPTEMBER – The Complex Operating Unit of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Carlo Urbani Hospital in Jesi (Ancona), directed by Gianluca Grechi, has obtained important recognitions at a national level in recent years. The latest in order of time, from a strictly obstetric point of view, is that of “Perineum-Friendly Hospital” (at a national level, there are 43 departments awarded this title) for the particular attention given to the prevention of perineal trauma and consequently of pelvic floor problems related to childbirth.
The hospitalization department has 24 beds with a staff of 10 medical directors, 24 midwives and 4 healthcare assistants. Patients can access it as an ordinary hospitalization, as a day surgery (DH) or through urgent hospitalization via direct access from the obstetric-gynecological emergency room. A wide range of services and skills led to high numbers of activities last year: 2,050 hospitalizations, 3,600 outpatient services and 903 births. Approximately 18% of pregnant women come from outside the province.
The department has 4 single labor rooms with internal bathrooms and 3 latest-generation delivery rooms equipped with the highest technological safety standards. “It is a jewel in the crown of the Marche health system, and plays a prominent role in the national panorama for the importance and quality of the services offered, as demonstrated by the numbers of patients treated, hospitalizations and operations performed”, commented the vice president of the Council and Health Councilor of the Marche Region, Filippo Saltamartini.
