jpnn.comBOGOR – The JHL Merah Putih Kasih Foundation (YMPK) is collaborating with a number of restaurants, hotels, and supermarket chains to support YMPK’s flagship program, namely producing 1,000 agricultural and animal husbandry graduates over the next five years.
This is a program that is in line with the commitment to realizing food self-sufficiency and independence, which is often conveyed by President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by YMPK with the leaders of the Grand Lucky supermarket chain, Angke Jaya Resto, Seven Kingdoms Resto, Pluit, Babah Ramu Resto, Aroma Resto, JHL Solitaire Resto, Episode Hotel, and the Dewa United football club – whose kitchen regularly prepares meals for 300 people.
The MoU was signed at the vegetable garden managed by YMPK together with farmers in Pakancilan, Megamendung, Bogor Regency, Saturday (21/9).
“Cooperation with these tenants is very necessary, so that fresh vegetables produced by farmers can be absorbed. That way, mutual symbiosis between providers and buyers of post-harvest vegetables can be guaranteed,” said Chairman of the YMPK Advisory Board Jerry Hermawan Lo.
The MoU was signed regarding cooperation in the sale and purchase of fresh vegetables produced by Megamendung farmers by restaurant, supermarket, hotel and football club managers.
What is unique about this collaboration is that YMPK leaves it up to the tenants to determine their own purchase prices for fresh vegetables produced by the farmers.
“Of course, we hope that the prices set by the tenants are in line with the commitment to support the success of the program to produce 1,000 agricultural and animal husbandry graduates over five years,” said Jerry.
