/ An international legal expert confirmed on Monday that Raad Hamoudi cannot appeal the procedures for his dismissal from the presidency of the Iraqi Olympic Committee directly before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Member of the General Assembly of the Olympic Committee and head of the Swimming Federation, Khaled Kabyan, told Agency that Kuwaiti Talal Al-Fahad allocated an amount of 300 to 400 thousand dollars for Raad Hamoudi’s complaint against the General Assembly of the Iraqi Olympic Committee in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), as well as a complaint against the Olympic Council of Asia through a Syrian lawyer named Muwaffaq Jamal.

For his part, the international legal expert in sports affairs, lawyer Nizar Ahmed, told Agency, “I would like to clarify to the sports community that is awaiting what is currently happening in the sports arena that Raad Hamoudi is not allowed to appeal his dismissal procedures directly before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) before exhausting the internal appeal methods, specifically the appeal before the Settlement and Arbitration Center, in accordance with the rules and procedures of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the statute of the Iraqi Olympic Committee.”

Regarding the amount allocated by Kuwaiti Talal Al-Fahad, Ahmed explained that “in all cases, the costs of filing a complaint before the CAS Court do not cost such a huge amount, as in the case of choosing a single arbitrator, the court fees and wages do not exceed 25-30 thousand dollars, and in the case of choosing an arbitration panel consisting of 3 arbitrators, the fees range between 40-60 thousand dollars.”

It is noteworthy that Raad Hamoudi, the head of the Olympic Committee who was dismissed by the General Assembly, did not accept the issue of his exclusion and resorted to an international complaint with the aim of returning to the presidency of the Olympic Committee despite the blessing of the International Federation for the acting head of the Olympic Committee, Aqil Muftan.
