In the canton of Bern, several municipalities are holding votes and elections. Important decisions in alphabetical order.
Belp
Stefan Neuenschwander (SP) has been elected as the new mayor of Belp. He secured 68.9 percent of the votes against Markus Müller (Mitte).
Bern
The citizens of Bern have committed to the Fischermätteli tram. The voters approved a loan of almost 16 million francs for the complete renovation of the Brunnhof-Fischermätteli road space with 76.1 percent.
Frutigen
Thomas Gyseler (Liberales Frutigen) is the new president of the municipal council of Frutigen. He won the replacement election with 71 percent of the votes against his opponent Hans Germann (SVP).
Hilterfingen
Elected to the municipal council are:
- Jürg Staubhaar (new/FDP)
- Daniel Ritz (new/FDP)
- Markus Graf (FDP)
- Roger Allenbach (SVP)
- Eva Egger-Feller (SP)
- Rebekka Strub (Greens)
- Martin Christen (Greens).
Köniz
A second round of voting is necessary for the municipal council replacement election on October 20. None of the candidates achieved the absolute majority on Sunday:
- Thomas Marti (GLP): 4865 votes
- Géraldine Mercedes Boesch (SP): 4439 votes
- Katja Streiff (EVP): 2614 votes
Langenthal
The voters have clearly approved the commitment credits and service agreements for the city theater (78 percent) and the library (87.5 percent). From 2025 to 2028, the city theater will receive 545,000 francs annually, while the library will receive around 460,000 francs.
Langnau
The municipality of Langnau can finalize plans for a flood protection project along the Ilfis. 71.2 percent of the voters have approved the loan of nearly two million francs.
Meikirch
No new development will be built on the edge of Meikirch: The voters rejected the Kirchmatt development with 59 percent.
Mühleberg
Elected to the municipal council are:

- Gabriela Leuenberger-Patzen (new/SVP)
- Christian Tschanz (new/SVP)
- André Fasnacht (new/FDP)
- Lukas Bühlmann (incumbent/SP)

Muri bei Bern
The name of the municipality remains. 60.1 percent of the voters rejected a name change to “Muri-Gümligen.”
Ostermundigen
The voters of Ostermundigen have approved the credit of 37 million francs for the Rothus school facility with 84.3 percent. The schoolhouse is a listed building. However, as the number of schoolchildren is increasing, it needs to be reopened, renovated, and expanded.
Pieterlen
The secondary school on Moosgasse can be expanded with six classrooms for 4 million francs. The voters approved the commitment credit with 52.1 percent Yes votes.
Sonvilier
Thun
The residents of Thun have clearly said Yes to the new location for rescue and protection with 87.6 percent. The city can now purchase the land in the West quarter for 6 million francs.
Worb
Worb has elected a new municipal council:
