The Iraqi Football Association announced today, Monday, the appointment of an Emirati refereeing team to lead the match between our national team and its Palestinian counterpart in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The Federation stated in a statement received by the (INA), that “within the matches of the third round of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by Basra Stadium on the tenth of next month, the match will be led by a refereeing crew consisting of Adel Al-Naqbi as the referee, and assistants Ahmed Saeed Al-Rashidi and Sabt Obaid Al-Ali, and the fourth referee Sultan Al-Hammadi.”
The statement added, “The VAR referee will be Yahya Ali Al-Mulla, assisted by Mohammed Obaid Mohammed, while Saudi Youssef Mirza Rustum will be the referees’ supervisor, and the supervisor Mohammed Saeed Al-Masry from Syria, and the Indian Kumar Sanjay will be responsible for safety and security, while the Iraqi Ali Karim will be the VAR technology supervisor.”
