Henry Mejía is sworn in as the new president of the CSJ

On Monday night, the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador, chaired by Ernesto Castro, He swore in seven proprietary magistrates who will be in charge of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and of the Judicial Body until 2033. Among the sworn-in magistrates, the election of Henry Alexander Mejia as president of the CSJ and of the Constitutional Chambera position he will hold until November 15, 2027.

The elected judges received the support of 57 deputies of New Ideashe National Concertation Party (PCN) and the Christian Democratic Party (PDC), which allowed the consolidation of the appointments for the next period.

Sworn Magistrates

  1. Henry Alexander Mejia: sworn in as president of the CSJ and the Constitutional Chamber until 2027, and as a full magistrate for the period 2024-2033.
  2. Oscar Alberto Lopez Jerez: re-elected as a full magistrate for the period 2024-2033.
  3. Miguel Elias Martinez Cortez: magistrate owner for the period 2024-2033.
  4. Lidia Patricia Castillo Amaya: proprietary magistrate for the period 2024-2033.
  5. Vicente Alexander Rivas Romero: magistrate owner for the period 2024-2033.
  6. Alejandro Antonio Quinteros Espinoza: magistrate owner to conclude the term in June 2030.
  7. Jose Fernando Marroquin Galo: magistrate owner to conclude the term in June 2030.

These appointments mark a new stage for the Judicial Bodywith a renewed CSJ that will be led by Mejía in the next three years.
