Weinsanto has opened fashion week in the French capital. But all eyes are on the debut of the new Roman creative director on September 29
Milan passes the baton to Paris and Fashion Week, which opened yesterday, September 23, with Weinsanto. The fashion shows will continue until October 1, 2024, for a total of 9 days of events. Special edition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the fashion week of the French capital with big numbers. 70 fashion shows, 38 presentations, plus parties and events throughout the city. All eyes are on the Alessandro Michele’s first show at Valentinowho succeeded Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Alessandro Michele will present his collection on September 29th after the small preview given in June 2024 and then worn by some stars at the Venice Film Festival. There will of course be the big names of French fashion including Dior, Hermès, Balenciaga, Schiaparelli and Saint Laurent with the return to Paris of Gabriela Hearst, Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Peter Do. Paris is also synonymous with other much-loved brands, such as Miu Miu, Isabel Marant and Victoria Beckham. It will be a difficult edition for Chanel and Dries Van Noten, thefter Virginie Viard’s farewell from the historic Mademoiselle brand and the designer’s retirement, the collections that will be shown by both Maisons are curated by the style office.
