Women’s T20 World Cup-2024 will be played next Thursday (October 3). Before that, the ICC published the list of umpires who will be officiating in the World Cup on Tuesday (September 24). This is the second time that all women umpires have been placed in the Women’s World Cup. Earlier, the umpires and match officials who served in the 2023 World Cup were all women.
Out of 13 this time, 10 are umpires and 3 are match referees.
The most experienced of the umpires is Claire Polosak. Earlier she officiated in four Women’s T20 World Cups. This is the fifth time. On the other hand, Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams will serve in the World Cup for the fourth time. Both of them were responsible for the finals of the last season.
Sue Redfern was the TV umpire for last season’s final. He will also serve in the World Cup for the fourth time.
Meanwhile, Sarah Dambanevana of Zimbabwe is going to make her debut on the World Cup stage.
The ninth edition of the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates from October 3 to October 20.
