Moroccan-Cameroonian talks on the consolidation of parliamentary cooperation

Rabat – The strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Morocco and Cameroon, particularly in its parliamentary aspect, was the focus of discussions, Monday in Rabat, between the first vice-president of the House of Advisors, Mohamed Hanine, and the president of the National Assembly of Cameroon, Cavayé Yeguié Djibril.

During these discussions, the two parties welcomed the deep relations woven between Morocco and Cameroon, as well as their growing dynamism, thanks to the strong will of the leaders of the two countries to develop them in various areas, indicates a press release from the House of Advisors.

On this occasion, Mr. Hanine reviewed the major political and democratic changes as well as the manifestations of the renewed development that the Kingdom is experiencing under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The official then highlighted the role of parliament, the House of Councilors in particular, in light of the 2011 Constitution, as a legislative authority with broad prerogatives in terms of, among others, financial control and evaluation of public policies in positive interaction with the rest of the constitutional institutions, the statement added.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Morocco-Cameroon friendship group, Younes Mellal, and the Secretary General of the House of Advisors, El Assad Zerouali.
