Natalia Lafourcade is the First ambassador of Music for Peacethe initiative presented this Friday by the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureateswithin the framework of the 19th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates.

“This is an initiative that aims to raise awareness and promote dialogue on issues of peace, human rights and civil coexistence, through one of the most powerful and universal languages: music,” the organization said in a statement.

The Music Ambassador for Peace marks the beginning of a unique collaboration between the Permanent Secretariat of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates and internationally renowned musicians and artists.

The first artist to receive the role is the award-winning Mexican singer-songwriter, whose art, deeply rooted in culture and tradition, has shown how music can break down barriers, unite people and spread messages of hope, respect and solidarity.

As the first Music for Peace Ambassador, she will be the spokesperson for I Commit to Peace, a campaign launched in Monterrey, Mexico, with the goal of inspiring the next generation to commit to a more just and peaceful world.

This initiative will take place on September 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at the GNP Stage of Pavilion M in Monterrey, thanks to the ABP World Values ​​Meeting, which, in application of its mission to promote values ​​through the implementation of social projects, helped to initiate a constructive dialogue that led to the realization of this role.
