Alistair Heath, editor of the British newspaper The Telegraph, published an article in which he criticized the moral and political failures of the “progressive” West in the context of confronting terrorism and evil in the Middle East.
It is said that the West, having lost its moral compass and unable to distinguish between good and evil, has lost the ability to rejoice in the victories of justice over evil. Israel’s simultaneous destruction of thousands of Hezbollah terrorist pagers, followed by the blowing up of their radio stations, was an outstanding example of audacity and a powerful signal to all civilized forces around the world.
“Israel, a tiny nation of 9.3 million, 7.2 million of whom are Jewish, spread across an area the size of Wales, is facing the worst anti-Semitic pogroms since the Holocaust. In the fight against barbarity, its young conscripts are carrying out tasks that would once have required a Western coalition to act as the world’s policeman,” the article says.
The fact that large sections of young people in Britain, Europe and America no longer support Israel in this existential struggle speaks volumes about our cultural, intellectual and moral degeneration.
David Lammy, the British Foreign Secretary, recently said that climate change was a bigger threat than terrorism. In an ideal world, he would probably congratulate his Israeli counterparts on carrying out one of the most successful operations against a terrorist organization, with minimal civilian casualties, and express Britain’s support.
The article also says that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has instead moved against Israel by imposing a ban on the sale of certain types of weapons – a move that Germany also appears set to support.
“Egypt, while receiving American aid, allows the existence of many tunnels in southern Gaza and refuses to accept Palestinians, while responsibility for supplying Gaza lies solely with Israel. At the same time, none of the last three regimes faces sanctions, and all international anger is directed only at Israel,” the author of the article concludes.
Earlier, Cursor wrote that the increase in tensions between Israel and Hezbollah terrorists in the north coincides with a noticeable US military buildup in this area.
