He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the orientation ceremony of 20 newly appointed Assistant Director of Immigration and Passport Directorate in the conference room of Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Monday (September 23) afternoon.

Requesting the officials to refrain from running and lobbying for postings, the Home Affairs Adviser said that the currently appointed officers are relatively talented. Therefore, you have to use your talent and devote yourself to the service of the country.

Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that people are harassed when they come to the passport office, and this bad reputation should be removed.

‘You have to remember that you are an officer of the Immigration and Passport Directorate under the Security Services Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. So, one has to work with a service mentality in line with the name,’ he added.

In the orientation ceremony, the senior secretary of the security service department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Moshiur Rahman Chowdhury and Director General of Immigration and Passport Directorate Major General Md. Nurul Anwar was present.
