/ Manchester United gave the English Premier League lead to Arsenal after a goalless draw with its host and traditional rival Liverpool, today, Sunday, in the summit of the seventeenth round matches of the English Premier League.
The two teams failed to score throughout the two halves of the match, which was the first between the two teams since Liverpool’s crushing 7-0 victory over United last March at Anfield, which hosted the match, after their stars competed in wasting all the opportunities that arose throughout the 90 minutes, especially on the part of the home team, so each team was satisfied with obtaining a single point.
Manchester United ended the match with ten players after Diogo Dalot was sent off in the fourth minute of stoppage time in the second half for receiving a second yellow card.
Liverpool, who failed to win at home for the first time this season, are now in second place with 38 points, one point behind leaders Arsenal.
In contrast, Manchester United, who were missing several stars such as Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen, rose to 28 points in seventh place.
This draw comes to somewhat ease the state of confusion suffered by Manchester United, which was eliminated early from the Champions League, after finishing at the bottom of its group last week.
