jpnn.comJAKARTA – Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo assessed that the Lt. Gen. H. Soedirman Stadium in Bojonegoro, East Java, is worthy of being developed into an international standard stadium.

The Lt. Gen. H. Soedirman Stadium, which is the headquarters of the Indonesian Football Association of Bojonegoro (Persibo) football club, was built in 1980 with a capacity of 12 thousand seats.

“I think we should propose this as one of the stadiums that could be changed to meet international standards,” said Dito Ariotedjo on the official Kemenpora website which was monitored in Jakarta, Monday (23/9).

Minister of Youth and Sports Dito made the statement after reviewing the Lt. Gen. H. Soedirman Stadium during a working visit to Bojonegoro, East Java. Dito said the stadium could also be developed into an integrated sports complex.

According to him, it means that future development is not only for football, but also equipped with facilities and infrastructure from other sports, including aspects of the sports industry. “The future development must be an integrated area. So, later there can be UMKM and other sports,” said Dito, who is also a Golkar Party politician.

On that occasion, Minister of Youth and Sports Dito also conveyed to the Persibo Advisory Board to develop the stadium in the future with limited capacity.

“I also said that the capacity should not be more than 20 thousand because this is very good and sufficient, especially for the Bojonegoro area and its surroundings,” said Dito Ariotedjo. (between/jpnn)
