Beirut: The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has once again carried out a major air strike in Lebanon on Monday. The IDF has said that it has targeted more than 300 Hezbollah targets during two major attacks. After the Israeli strike, the Lebanese Health Ministry has informed that 100 people have lost their lives in these attacks and more than 400 are injured. IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said that the Israeli army has carried out these attacks after warning people living around those buildings in Lebanon to vacate their homes, in which Hezbollah had hidden weapons and rockets.
Israel has been carrying out continuous airstrikes in Lebanon for the past five days. Since last Thursday, Israel has carried out attacks especially in southern Lebanon, calling it a crackdown on Hezbollah. These include a major attack against Hezbollah in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. On Monday’s attack, the Israeli army said that it is attacking Hezbollah-related targets in southern Lebanon and such attacks will be carried out in the future as well.

Lebanon’s PM condemned the attacks

According to Al Arabiya’s report, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the Israeli attacks and called them part of a plan aimed at destroying Lebanese villages and towns. He urged the United Nations to stop Israel’s aggression. He said that Israel’s attacks are killing innocents and this is a crime.

Before the attacks, the IDF had told southern Lebanese civilians to stay away from Hezbollah positions, Israeli media reported. On Monday, citizens in the Lebanese capital Beirut and other areas of the country received text messages and recorded messages asking them to immediately vacate their residences.

Tension increased after the pager blast

There has been tension between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah since October last year. Since the Israeli army’s attack on Gaza, there has been firing on the border between Hezbollah and Israel. This tension increased last week when thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies exploded in Lebanon. Hezbollah blamed Israel for this and fired rockets as a retaliatory attack. After this, Israel has carried out air strikes in Lebanon, which have caused heavy loss of life and property.
