/ Abbas Ali Kadkhodaei, head of the Iranian Legal and International Follow-up Committee on the Assassination of the Former Quds Force Commander, Major General Qassem Soleimani, proposed on Sunday the formation of a joint court with Iraq to investigate the assassination of the Deputy Chairman of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Soleimani.

Mehr News Agency reported in a report, followed by Agency, that Kadkhodaei participated in the international conference hosted by the University of Baghdad to investigate the dimensions of the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Major General Qassem Soleimani and their companions, which was held in the presence of professors, ambassadors, Iraqi political representatives and legal men from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Venezuela, Yemen and Iran.

The report added that in addition to submitting a report on the process of following up on this issue in Iran, a number of international legal solutions were proposed that could be presented in international legal forums, which would contribute to following up on this issue, and practical suggestions were also presented in this regard.

The report noted that this legal and political conference was held last year at the national level in Iraq, and this year it was held in the presence of international law professors and political experts from different countries within the framework of two legal and political committees.

The report quoted Kadkhodaei during his speech at the conference, saying, “We look forward to the continuation of such conferences through the cooperation of all human rights experts at the international level, and that we can find appropriate solutions to hold countries like the United States accountable for the crimes they commit,” according to the report.
