Out of 96 countries, Iraq is the third largest importer of Turkish pistachios last year

/ The Southeastern Anatolia Exporters Union announced on Sunday that Iraq ranked third as the largest importer of Turkish pistachios out of 96 countries during the past year 2023.

According to data collected by the official Turkish Anadolu Agency, Türkiye’s revenues from exporting pistachios to 96 countries last year amounted to $151 million and 568 thousand.

She added that Germany ranked first among the countries that import the most Turkish pistachios, with $36 million and 9 thousand, followed by Italy in second place with $22 million and 460 thousand, then Iraq in third place with $12 million and 628 thousand.

She explained that the provinces of Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep produce the largest quantity of pistachios, which are famous for their high quality and unique taste locally and globally.
