This meeting, held in the presence of the Secretary General of the UGTM, Enaam Mayara, as well as union officials, is part of a series of regional communication meetings initiated by the union formation, to review the Group’s record in terms of legislative initiative and monitoring of government action.
This is an opportunity to address the various issues debated by the Group during the last legislative period, in addition to developments in social dialogue and sectoral issues affecting the working class in light of current conditions, Mr. Mayara stressed in a statement to MAP on the sidelines of this meeting.
The UGTM Secretary General added that these are issues related mainly to the rise in prices that have weakened the purchasing power of citizens, particularly the working class, as well as to developments in social dialogue, particularly in terms of improving incomes, social legislation in general, and the institutionalization of this dialogue.
For his part, the president of the UGTM Group in the House of Councilors, Abdellatif Moustaqim, said that holding this communication meeting is part of the commitment made by the Group to activists, since the professional elections of June 2021.
Mr. Moustaqim indicated, in this regard, that this meeting is intended to be an appointment for activists to learn about the new actions undertaken by the Group, as well as to learn about their expectations in different areas.
This meeting was an opportunity for a number of executives and managers of the UGTM of the Oriental region to discuss the issues and problems faced by workers in several sectors in the region.
