Mr. El Mlih stressed in a statement to MAP on the sidelines of the 7th edition of the “Sahraouia” women’s solidarity raid, organized from March 13 to 20 in Dakhla, that the participation of all these women today in the competition despite the difficult health conditions reflects the image of the Moroccan Sahrawi woman, who shows perseverance, determination and solidarity through the trials they pass.

He also clarified that Sahraouiya is a multi-sport competition, including several sporting events, including run & bike, bike & bike, orienteering, abseiling, and canoeing.”

The particularity of this year is that the level of the participants is quite high compared to previous editions,” he added, noting that these girls are all fighting to come home first and help the different associations they defend.

The coach also noted that these women are participating today for pleasure, for passion, and above all for solidarity, making it known that they are leading this adventure in a magnificent landscape and are managing to overcome all the difficulties of the events through team spirit and commitment to the causes defended.

“Women are achieving something great today,” he said, expressing his pride in the level of all the women participating.

Regarding the route of the 3rd stage competition, the coach stressed that it includes 2 events, in the morning a “bike & bike” course over 7km, then the canoe to Dragon Island, before returning against the tide to the finish point.

For Mr. El Mlih, the secret of success in this competition is physical and mental preparation before the start of the competition, noting that one must have an iron mind to be able to complete all the events, in addition to always keeping a good mood and motivating each other between pairs.

“The main goal of this competition is purely human, since the winnings will be donated to associations,” he said, affirming that all these women came to play sports for a cause, for women, children, or others, and give the best image of Morocco, where women work alongside men for the development of the country.
