US intelligence services warn of Iran’s threat to kill Trump /

“The Office of the Director of National Intelligence informed President Trump today of a real and specific threat from Iran to kill him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States,” Trump’s staff press secretary, Stephen Cheung, said in a statement.

“Intelligence officials have determined that these continuous and coordinated attacks have intensified in recent months, and law enforcement officials across all agencies are working to ensure President Trump’s protection and the election without interference,” he added.

Iran earlier this summer denied accusations that it was trying to kill Trump, shortly after a gunman opened fire at a rally in Pennsylvania, killing one person and wounding Trump in the ear.

A few days after the July 13 assassination attempt, the US media reported that the authorities had received intelligence about a possible Iranian conspiracy against Trump, which led to the strengthening of his protection. Iran rejected the “malicious” accusations.

The US has also accused Iran of cyberattacks on Trump’s campaign headquarters, saying Tehran is trying to influence the election.
