Position on suspicion of backlighting
Actress Lee Na-eun, formerly of girl group April, has expressed her position on the allegations of backdoor advertising raised in relation to her appearance in content by travel YouTuber Kwak Tube (real name Kwak Jun-bin).

While doing so, he emphasized, “If the claims made by Lee Jin-ho above are true, then Kwak Tube made travel plans for Lee Na-eun ‘in order to form positive public opinion’ after signing a ‘practically implicit contract’ with her,” and “This may constitute false or exaggerated representation or advertisement.” He also added that the reason for raising the suspicion of backdoor advertising was, “Contents that acknowledge a product as good or recommend its purchase or use constitute ‘recommendations or warranties,’ and therefore it must be indicated that there is an economic interest in the advertiser.”

Meanwhile, on the 16th, Kwak Tube posted a video titled ‘My first romantic week in Italy’ on his YouTube channel. In the video, he traveled with Lee Na-eun. However, Lee Na-eun was at the center of a controversy over bullying former April member Lee Hyun-joo, and the controversy grew as Kwak Tube made comments that seemed to defend Lee Na-eun. Eventually, Kwak Tube deleted the video and posted an apology.
As a result of this controversy, Kwak Tube did not attend the first recording of MBN’s ‘Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2’ and also canceled his scheduled attendance at events, leading to some pointing out that public opinion is being excessive.
