The new platform for applying for US visas
From September 23, 2024, the Embassy of the United States in Guatemala has implemented a New platform for visa applicationsThis system will allow applicants to access all information about the process, pay related fees, schedule interviews and manage the delivery of documents.
It is important to note that this change does not imply an increase in the costs of applying for visas, the service provider has simply been replaced. Previously, the procedures were carried out through ustraveldocs.combut now they will be held on site .

Steps to associate paid nonimmigrant visa applications before September 23
If you are making the request for nonimmigrant visa and you paid the fee before the implementation of the new platform, you will need to associate your request with your new account to continue with the process. Here’s how to do it:
- Accede a and select the “Nonimmigrant Visa Applicants” option.
- Choose the country from which you are applying and select your preferred language.
- Click “Apply” and select the option “I paid the visa application fee before September 23, 2024 and I need to link my existing application record to my new user account.”
- Create your account and complete the applicant information page by entering your personal information. It is crucial that the data provided, such as name, date of birth and passport number, match those on your previous application to avoid errors.
- Once the account is linked, you will be able to manage the request, make changes or check the status of the return of your documents.
Steps for nonimmigrant visa applications not yet paid
If you wish to apply for a US visa and have not paid the visa application fee, you will need to complete these steps to complete the process on the new platform:
- Enter to and select “Nonimmigrant Visa Applicants.”
- Choose the country of your request and the language you wish to browse in.
- Click “Apply” and select the option “I have completed the U.S. Nonimmigrant Visa Applicant Form (DS-160) and need to apply for a visa.”
- Create your user account and indicate where you prefer the documents to be delivered.
- Make the payment of the visa application fee.
- Once paid, you will be able to schedule an appointment for the consular interview.
Steps to register or schedule a consular interview appointment for an immigrant visa
If you already have an appointment scheduled for a consular interview, you must also register it on the new platform:
- Accede a and select “Immigrant Visa Applicants.”
- Choose the country from which you are applying and select your preferred language.
- Click “Register” and select “I have received an appointment date for a consular interview from the National Visa Center (NVC), Kentucky Consular Center (KCC), or Consular Section.”
- Create a user. On the “Select Service IV” page, choose the option “I need to schedule an appointment for an immigrant visa” and enter the information for the New Applicant.
- Select the location where you wish to receive your passport and documents after the interview.
- Finally, on the “Register Appointment” page, click “Complete Registration” to finish the process.
