My son wants to go to hell despite his Christian family – what should I do?

It is autumn. I passed Woolworths with the children, the first Halloween thing is put out: tasteless plastic gravestones and plush spiders. We’re all not into Halloween; but in different ways.

Not me, because I found the festival crazy.

My youngest son (5) didn’t because he went as a Dalmatian last year and had a bad experience. With floppy ears and a black nose, he padded restlessly through the living room, and instead of causing fear and dread, a mother, leaning against the door frame, simply said that she thought her milk would come in at any moment.

My oldest (7), on the other hand, how should you put it, does not understand Halloween. Instead of a ghost, he went like the Ghostbusters, which is why at one point he stood in front of me, sweating, and said he had “something terrible to do today” with all the vampires here. So when it comes to Halloween and the upcoming pumpkin season, I’m pretty relaxed.
