This large-scale medical caravan, also initiated in partnership with the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara and the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, is part of the second phase of multidisciplinary medical caravans for the improvement of maternal and child health. It also intervenes within the framework of the implementation of Phase III of the INDH, in particular program 4 dedicated to the Boosting of the human capital of rising generations.
This seventh and final stage is part of a voluntary medical program made up of seven caravans that traveled through the municipalities of Mers El Khair, Sidi Yahya Zaer, Douar Lamkhalef, El Menzah Oum Azza, Assabah Ain Atiq and Skhirat, with the aim of improving access to health services for mothers and children and providing them with specialized medical services: early detection of breast and cervical cancer, anemia, diabetes, high blood pressure, malnutrition, in addition to the full coverage of certain specific surgical operations for children.
During this caravan, health services were provided to more than 3,220 women and children who benefited from 10,434 health treatments divided between medical examinations and consultations, of which 3,110 were provided by general practitioners and 2,032 by specialist doctors, in addition to surgical interventions for the benefit of 27 children, including very delicate operations.
In a statement to MAP, the representative of the Social Action Division at the Skhirat-Témara prefecture, Naoual Rguig, indicated that this caravan aims to improve maternal and child health and is an integral part of the INDH program which aims to improve access for women and children to a range of medical specialties and follow up cases of children requiring surgical intervention.
For her part, the president of AMMS, Latifa Moustaid, stressed that this caravan is the last in a series that has crisscrossed the region with the aim of promoting maternal and child health.
He added that these multidisciplinary medical caravans seek to provide certain specialties including early detection of breast and cervical cancer, anemia, diabetes and other diseases.
For his part, Abdelali Bennis, biologist, indicated that this caravan aims to provide medical services in various specialties to women and children in rural and semi-rural areas of the prefecture of Skhirat-Temara, stressing that during these caravans biological analyzes are carried out for the benefit of children and women.
In the same context, Ait Ali Khadija, a beneficiary of this medical caravan, expressed her joy at the attention paid by the medical staff to all the beneficiaries, stressing that she benefited from a medical visit and free medication.
The INDH has programmed, with its partners, a series of multidisciplinary medical caravans with the aim of facilitating access to health services for the greatest number of target people.
