AC Milan had lost six derbies in a row against Inter. In front of over 75,000 spectators, the team led by “wobbly coach” Paulo Fonseca managed to secure a win against their city rival on Sunday evening.

The decision at San Siro came in the 89th minute: Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders curled a free kick into the center, and Matteo Gabbia powerfully headed it in to make it 2-1 – Yann Sommer in Inter’s goal was helpless. The Swiss had already been beaten by Christian Pulisic in the 7th minute. Federico Di Marco equalized in the 27th minute. Noah Okafor was substituted in for Milan for the final minutes.

1st win of the season for Roma

Just before that, struggling AS Roma celebrated their first win of the season with a 3-0 against Udinese. The new coach Ivan Juric was on the sidelines for the first time. His predecessor Daniele De Rossi had been dismissed on Wednesday. Fan discontent subsequently led to the departure of CEO Lina Souloukou.

The Swiss Bologna trio Michel Aebischer, Remo Freuler, and Dan Ndoye also got their first win in their 5th season match (2-1 in Monza).
