On September 30, the platform will open for the payment of the fourth installment of the A21 – child benefit. Specifically, the ability to submit and process applications will not be available from 09/11/2024 at 18:00 due to ongoing processes. The platform is expected to open at 8:00 in the morning.
What is the process to receive the A21 – Child Benefit
By following the steps below, you can check if you are entitled to the A21 – child benefit:
Step 1
Submission of E1 and A21 application The benefit is calculated based on the dependent children declared in the A21 for the year 2024 and according to the last processed tax return. However, in order for beneficiaries to know the correct amount of their benefit for the year 2024 and to avoid the accumulation of unduly paid amounts, it is recommended to submit an income tax declaration-E1 for the current year (2023 income). The payment of the child benefit installment that will be made after the deadline for submitting E1 for the current year will include only those applicants who have submitted the tax declaration for the current year.
Step 2
Login Enter the application with your TaxisNet credentials by clicking the link that follows the instructions. Upon logging into the system, you will be asked to confirm your AMKA and consent to the processing of the required data, namely your own, your spouse’s or partner’s information, and your dependent children’s information.
Step 3
Consent After entering, a form will appear where you must select your current family status. Married applicants and those who are separated must enter their spouse’s AFM and AMKA. Read carefully the text regarding Consent for the Child Benefit and click [Consent] (to start filling out and submitting the A21 child benefit application-declaration).
Step 4
Application Completion The child benefit application will contain your personal details and your family composition pre-filled. Some fields in the application must be completed by you, such as identity details, address, and contact information, as well as the IBAN in which you are the beneficiary or co-beneficiary for the payment of the benefit.
Step 5
Family Composition The child benefit application includes a table with your family composition. For some members, additional information may be required, such as student details. By clicking [Change Details], you will be directed to the form of the member for whom you will enter and register supplementary data. If any of the children should not be included in the application, you must delete the child. Additionally, if a member is not included in your pre-filled family composition, you must add a child. In the same list, there is relevant information next to the name of the person who may need to consent for the benefit. For their consent, they must log in to the application with their own TaxisNet details.
Step 6
Notes & Supporting Documents Upon saving or submitting the application, the application may display notes at the bottom of the form with important information regarding the application. You may be asked to attach supporting documents relating to you or any dependent member. Some of the supporting documents are mandatory for the submission of the child benefit application.
Step 7
Entry and Submission At the bottom of the application, you can click [Save] or [Submit]. By saving, the application is temporarily recorded in the system, and you can return later one or more times to complete additional details of the members or attach any required supporting documents. After the final submission of the application, it will not be possible to modify it. The review of the attached supporting documents will be done by OPEKA only after the final submission of the application. It is emphasized that an unfinalized application is not considered submitted and its processing will not proceed.
Application Cancellation
If after submitting the application, you find that there is a mistake, you can cancel it by clicking [My Applications] / [View] / [Cancel Application] and then initiate a new application-declaration (A21) for the child benefit. When you complete it, it must be definitively submitted. If you cancel your application and do not definitively submit a new one, any amount you received based on the canceled application will be considered unduly paid.
