Confartigianato, zero progress in resources to protect territories – Italy-World

by times news cr

(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 25 – In the decade 2009-2019, in Italy, public investments in works to protect the territory in relation to GDP halved, to start rising again from 2021, also thanks to the support of the PNRR. In 2023, however, with 11.1 billion euros, they were almost equal to those of 2022 (11.2 billion), highlighting the lack of significant progress. This is what emerges from the elaboration of the Confartigianato Research Office released on the occasion of the 20th edition of the ‘Energies and Transition Confartigianato High School’ Convention, which opens today in Chia (Cagliari). Among the ‘flaws’ of the infrastructure – the analysis notes – that of the water system is among the most glaring. Of the 8 billion cubic meters of water introduced into municipal networks, 3.4 billion (42.4%) are lost, a volume greater than the water supplied for the entire Center-North (3.2 billion cubic meters). Losses vary at a territorial level: from 33.5% in the North-West to 51.9% in the Islands, where the summer water crisis of 2024 was particularly acute. The regions with the highest water losses are Basilicata (65.5%), Abruzzo (62.5%), Molise (53.9%), Sardinia (52.8%), Sicily (51.6%), Campania (49.9%), Umbria (49.7%), Calabria (48.7%) and Lazio (46.2%).
