A second wave of GERB mayors is going to the parliamentary vote, after three of their colleagues have already led lists – Dimitar Nikolov in Burgas, Zhivko Todorov in Stara Zagora and Nikolay Melemov in Smolyan.

Already on September 2, the leader of GERB announced the inclusion of some of the most successful mayors at the helm – in order to conduct a more active campaign on the ground, and to mobilize the structures at the local level. He promised that he would not take them to the parliament, but hinted that with their expertise they could become ministers if GERB takes power.

After the registration and on the last lists, it became clear that the mayor of Plovdiv Kostadin Dimitrov is second right after Boyko Borisov himself. Before being elected in the local vote last November, as the mayor of the “Trakia” region, Dimitrov was also among the persons of GERB in the local self-government, there were also nominations in the last parliamentary vote in June.

The mayor of Dimitrovgrad, Ivo Dimitrov, is third in the Haskov list after former energy minister Delyan Dobrev and GERB’s excellent in preferences Georgi Stankov. He was a GERB deputy before winning the mayoral vote. Also in the 3rd position in Pernik is the mayor of Zemen, Mihail Zlatanov.

The former mayor of Blagoevgrad Atanas Kambitov returns to the front ranks, who after a split between Borisov and Tsvetanov followed the former second in the party. After a 4-year absence, Kambitov regained his membership in GERB and immediately headed the municipal structure in Blagoevgrad. Now it will be 2nd in the list there, headed by Rosen Zhelyazkov.

In Shumen, the former governor of the city Lyubomir Hristov is in charge. Fourth on the list for Veliko Tarnovo is Ivelina Getsova, who was the mayor of Lyaskovets for 5 terms, and is now a municipal councilor.
