The Ministry of Interior denied the existence of an expected cyber security attack on Iraq.

The ministry stated in a statement received by the (INA), that “some social media sites circulated news about an expected cyber security attack on Iraq, and the National Security Service calls on all subscribers to refrain from opening emails, files, links and unregistered video clips on YouTube, and not to circulate pictures in the morning and evening, posters, open them and send them to others starting at 6:00 am on Wednesday 9/25/2024,” stressing that “after coordination with the National Security Service, it was found that the news is inaccurate and false.”
According to the statement, the Anti-Rumor Department called on “all social media users not to be drawn into fake pages and to take news from its official sources and not to believe the rumours circulated on social media platforms.”
