There are currently 25-35 lakh people in the country who are creating social media content at an individual level, but out of these only about 1.5 lakh people are able to earn money from it. Influencers have been divided into four categories. Nano influencers means those who have 100 to 10 thousand followers, micro means those who have 10 thousand to one lakh followers, macro means those who have one lakh to 10 lakh followers and mega influencers means those who have more than 10 lakh followers. After this come celebrities, whose followers can be in crores.

How much time do influencers give

According to a report by accounting company EY, 73 percent of Indian influencers spend less than 10 hours a week on their social media platforms. Whereas in other countries this figure is 39 hours. There are very few people who are full-time social media influencers. Many influencers cite the lack of a fixed income as the reason for this.

Instagram earns more than YouTube

According to Kofluence report, while celebrities earn 7 to 15 lakh rupees from an Instagram video, they earn 1 to 5 lakh rupees from a YouTube video. On the other hand, macro influencers earn 60 thousand to 1.6 lakh rupees from an Instagram video and between 40 thousand to one lakh rupees from a YouTube video.
