Traffic is intense at the Kardam and Oryahovo border checkpoints on the border with Romania at the exit for trucks, the Main Directorate of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on its website. The data is as of 6 a.m., reports BTA.

Due to technical problems, the ferry “Svishtov” has been temporarily suspended. Due to the major repair of the Bulgarian section of the Danube bridge near Ruse, a temporary organization of traffic has been introduced, the traffic is carried out in one lane with a through mode and is regulated by a traffic light system. In addition to the “Ruse” border crossing, drivers in the region can also go to the “Silistra” border crossing, the “Kardam” border crossing, the “Durankulak” border crossing, the “Kainardja” border crossing and the “Krushari” border crossing. The last two are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day, trucks are not allowed through them.

On the border with Greece, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints. In connection with the significantly increased crossings of the large number of Romanian tourists traveling to and from Greece through the “Kulata” and “Makaza” border crossing points, the “Border Police” recommend the use of alternative checkpoints on the Bulgarian-Greek border, which have a lower load and allow faster passage. Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of Thessaloniki, Kavala and the Halkidiki peninsula can pass through the Ilinden border crossing as an alternative to the Kulata border crossing. Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of Xanthi, Komotini and o Thassos can use the “Zlatograd” checkpoint as an alternative to the “Makaza” checkpoint. For resorts in the area of Alexandroupolis, it is recommended to go through the “Captain Petko” checkpoint. Only cars and minibuses are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad border crossing points.

Traffic is normal at all points on the border with Serbia, as well as on the border with Turkey.

On the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is also normal at all checkpoints. The “Border Police” remind that on August 26 of this year at the Gueshevo border crossing, the implementation of the activities under the contract related to the construction of the EU Entry/Exit System began. The cabins for border checks of the passing trucks will be dismantled and replaced with new ones. The traffic of the passing trucks will be temporarily redirected through the routes for the passage of passenger cars and certain difficulties are possible when crossing the Güeshevo border crossing.
