Bangladesh moved up the Test Championship points table after winning the two-match Test series against Pakistan. However, Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s team has dropped two steps as a result of the loss in the Chennai Test against India. Bangladesh has dropped from four to six.
India strengthened their position in the points table of the championship by winning the Chennai Test. Rohit Sharma’s team is at the top with 71.67 percent points. Second placed Australia has 62.50 percent points.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has reached the third place after defeating New Zealand in the Galle Test. Their current points are 50 percent. New Zealand is fourth. Kiwis are number four with 42.86 percent points. England is not far behind, with 42.19 percent points, they are in fifth place.
Bangladesh is ranked sixth with 39.29 percent points. Seventh-placed South Africa are breathing down the Tigers’ necks, with 38.89 per cent of their points. After the tour of India, Bangladesh will enter the series against South Africa at home. If they beat the Proteas in the 2-match Test series, the gap will widen again.
8th and 9th place in the table are Pakistan and West Indies respectively. Pakistan points 19.05 percent. West Indies’ points are 18.52 percent.
