Case against 40 people including former law minister and attorney general

A case has been filed against former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former Attorney General M Amin Uddin and 40 people for fraud in Supreme Court Bar Association elections.

On Wednesday (September 25), the Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka. Supreme Court lawyer ABM Ibrahim Khalil filed the case in Aktaruzzaman court. The court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and directed the Shahbag police station to investigate the complaint.

Among the other accused in the case are – Barrister Fazle Noor Tapas, Advocate Mumtaz Uddin Fakir, Abdur Noor Dulal, Barrister Mehdi Hasan Chowdhury, Barrister Khandkar Reza-e-Raqib, Barrister Tanjib Ul Alam, Motahar Hossain Saju, former Additional Attorney General Sheikh Md. Morshed, Advocate Moniruzzaman, Wakilur Rahman, Azharullah Bhuya, Waziullah, Soumitra Sardar, Shubo, Kajal Rashid Biswas, Barrister Imran, Asaduzzaman Monir, Mizan, Jaglul Kabir, Saif, Shahnewaz, Mukim, Former DB Chief Haroon Or Rashid, DB Ramna (Sup. Court Incharge) Mohammad Momin, former DC Haroon, SI Golapuddin Mahmud of Shahbag Police Station, AC Ramna Bayejidur Rahman, Senior Assistant Police Commissioner of Ramna Zone Abdul Al Masum, Senior Assistant Police Commissioner of New Market Zone Sharif Mohammad Farooq, Police Inspector of Shahbag Police Station. Mahfuzul Haque Bhuiya and Golam Mostafa, Naik Md. Baki Billah, Constable Md. Moinuddin, Kibria and Rakibul Islam.

It is said in the case complaint that on March 15, 2019 at 10 am, 40-50 unknown lawyers, Jubo League leaders and 100 special policemen, suddenly entered the auditorium of the Supreme Court Bar Association. They destroyed the history, tradition and dignity of the Supreme Court Bar Association. The accused threw out the lawyers from inside the Supreme Court auditorium and cast fake votes in the ballot led by the so-called Election Commissioner. By spoiling the election process, the accused declared 14 people elected in a dictatorial manner and put them in charge of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

In the complaint, the plaintiff has not been able to file a case due to the fact that there is a dictator in Bangladesh and the police, state minister, attorney general, Sheikh Fazle Nur Tapas, a corrupt member of the Sheikh family, have directly fueled, instructed, planned and ordered the incident.
