The company’s product is driving PC development
While sales in the consumer segment grew moderately, the corporate sector dominated the PC market. According to Canalys Analyst Greg Davis, this sector benefits from increased IT investment, especially through the regular renewal of PCs in large companies. The segment grew by an impressive 12%, while the figures for small and medium businesses and private customers showed a healthy, if strong, growth of 3% and 6%, respectively.
Suboptimal situation for Apple
This creates an unpleasant situation for Apple: Although the company is still able to grow a little, it lags behind the overall market growth. This is leading to declining market share – a trend exacerbated by the general wait for M4 Macs. Those who are interested in buying hold and then take the upcoming models, which will probably be released soon. Last year, Apple also launched the M3 chip models in October. Experts think that this arrangement will be repeated in 2024. MacBook Pro models in 14 and 16 inches, as well as the new Mac mini, are said to be the first Macs to be equipped with the M4 chip.
M4, mini and more
The M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max versions are expected for the MacBook Pro. The Mac mini can appear in a much smaller form factor, similar to the Apple TV, in the M4 and M4 Pro variants. In addition to new Macs, minor hardware updates are also expected. Apple is set to switch to USB-C for the next generation of its Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard and trackpad. This change will go well with recent developments in the iPhone sector, where Apple has also switched from Lightning to USB-C due to regulations.
